If you’re looking for an exclusive and private river and lodge in Iceland with stunning scenery, then please do read on.
BRYNJUDALSA RIVER – ICELAND
The Brynjudalsa river and lodge is located just 45km (around 40 minutes) from Reykjavik (around 90 minutes from Keflavik). However, due to its location at the top end of a remote fjord, you truly escape – it is a quiet, beautiful and serene setting. It is truly worth visiting for the vista from the lodge alone – it’s a special place, a paradise.
The two rod river has both salmon and sea trout present. You can keep the fishing and the lodge to just two anglers, or you may rod share and also bring non-anglers. Prime time is August and September, but the river can fish well from the middle of July onwards.
This is a fantastic place for non-anglers to visit if you’re looking to explore the area, or just looking for somewhere to relax and unwind for a few days; it would be a great place to do some hiking from, painting, writing etc. or just sitting on the veranda with a large glass of wine!
The Brynjudalsa is also fantastic value for money. The following are some options to explore. However, if you wish to stay for longer, have a different group configuration etc. then please do make contact.
x2 rods taking the fishing and lodge exclusively for 3 days and 3 nights; £3,200 in total, or £1,600 each (equivalent of just £535 per day!)
x4 people sharing the lodge and rods (only 2 rods fishing at a time) for 3 days and 3 nights; £3,400 in total, or £850 each (equivalent of just £285 per day!)
The lodge is self-catering and there are ample utensils supplied at the lodge, with supplies easy to obtain in either Reykjavik or Borgarnes. These costs do not include guiding or transfers, which can be arranged at an additional cost. Linen, towels, electricity, warm water etc. included as standard.
