Fishing

To appreciate the advantages of the houseboat system of the Golden Dorado River Cruiser compared to a traditional static lodge, you first need to understand the geography of the amazing Paraná River.

The Paraná River is born in the south of Brazil and, on its way south as it enters Argentina it receives water from several smaller rivers and tributaries. When it enters the provinces of Entre Ríos and Santa Fe it forms one of the largest deltas in the world, due to the confluence with the Uruguay River, finishing at La Plata River near the city of Buenos Aires, before going into the Atlantic Ocean.

This large river system is the second biggest in South America, after the Amazon, with a total length of over 1,500 miles. With hundreds of tributaries, deltas, marshlands, lagoons, side channels, it is full of fantastic flora and fauna, providing the most exciting adventure in this unique part of Argentina. This adds to the overall experience and wilderness. You will struggle to find a wilder place in which to catch a dorado in Argentina.

You will be fishing new waters every day, fishing and casting down inviting runs, inlet / outlets of lagoons, small side channels, tributaries bringing bait fish etc. It is an ever changing landscape and always something interesting around every corner.

Golden dorado are amazing hunters. They are always in search of an unfortunate prey item that happens to go by their holding spot. They like a current, and most times hunt their prey close to structure.

Fishing is done from brand new boats that are specifically designed for fly fishing. They have two casting platforms that allow comfortable casting and fishing, with remote controlled electrical engine operated by the guide that ensures you’re always in the best fishing zone possible.

In addition to targeting golden dorado, there is also the added bonus of fishing other exciting fish like pacu, pira pita, tararira, surubi, chafalote, and other freshwater species, which provide fantastic sport on both fly and spin gear.
