Howenh Lodge is a boutique sea trout destination located on Argentina’s famed Río Grande in Tierra del Fuego. Hosting a maximum of just six anglers per week, the lodge offers a highly personalised fishing experience on one of the world’s most celebrated migratory trout rivers.
Positioned on an exceptional section of the river, Howenh controls more than 30 kilometres of productive water extending all the way to the Chilean border. Howenh Lodge provides access to more than 30 kilometres of water, ensuring anglers have a huge variety of pools, runs and holding water to explore throughout the week. The river’s consistent flow, excellent fish-holding structure and strong annual runs have established Tierra del Fuego as a bucket-list destination for fly fishermen worldwide.
Fishing is exclusively fly fishing and is typically undertaken using Spey rods, switch rods and single-handed outfits depending on water conditions. Experienced guides help anglers adapt techniques to maximise opportunities throughout the week.
The extensive beats and limited rod numbers ensure guests rarely encounter other anglers and can enjoy a relaxed pace of fishing on one of the most productive sea trout rivers on the planet.
Howenh Lodge offers comfortable accommodation designed specifically for travelling anglers. With a maximum of six guests hosted each week, the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and highly personalised.
All guests enjoy single room accommodation, providing privacy and comfort throughout their stay. The small scale of the operation allows staff to deliver attentive service while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that has become synonymous with the best Tierra del Fuego fishing lodges.
The lodge provides an ideal base from which to explore the extensive fishing water controlled by the programme.
Guests enjoy hearty meals designed to fuel long days on the river, with breakfast, lunch and dinner included throughout their stay.

Howenh Lodge operates on a Friday-to-Friday schedule throughout the season.
Guests fly into Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego, where scheduled transfers to and from the lodge are included as part of the package. Fish Travel can assist with all international and domestic flight arrangements, as well as any additional accommodation required before or after your fishing week.

The sea trout season in Tierra del Fuego runs from December through April, with fresh fish entering the Río Grande throughout the summer months.
Early season weeks often offer excellent opportunities for aggressive fresh-run fish, while the prime weeks from late January onwards are traditionally regarded as the most sought-after dates of the season due to higher fish numbers and ideal river conditions.
The combination of strong annual runs and extensive fishing water ensures productive fishing opportunities throughout the season.
