The Sea of Cortez, also known as the Gulf of California, is a body of water located between the Baja California Peninsula of Mexico and the Mexican mainland. It is renowned for its great biodiversity and its abundance of fish species.
It is home to over 700 species of fish, including some of the most iconic game fish in the world such as Marlin, Sailfish, and Roosterfish. You can also find pelagic species, such as Mahi Mahi(Dorado), Tunas (Yellowfin, Skipjack, Bluefin,Wahoo), Striped, Blue, and Black Marlin.
The Sea of Cortez is one of the most prolific fishing destinations in the world. It is the ideal fishing destination due to its warm climate and diverse range of marine life. Since there are various fish species living in this habitat, you have the chance to perform all different styles of fishing, from fly fishing to jigging, from using lures to poppers, from using flies to bait.
Maximum capacity at Angling Baja is six anglers at one time. Each angler gets a single room at the hotel, with the fishing being two anglers per guide.
The hotel is located along the coastal desert paradise of East Cape. This beautifully appointed hotel is just three blocks away from the Sea of Cortez and is located on the main road of La Ventana. You will enjoy the most stunning sunrises and sunsets over the Sea of Cortez from your own terrace. You will also have a stunning view of Cerralvo Island.
