Fishing

Rio Marié is unique in Brazil as it has access to more than 500 miles of exclusive catch-and-release, fly fishing only water.

Rio MariĂ© is the best destination for avid fly anglers to pursue their dream of catching true trophy peacock bass – fish of over 20 pounds. MariĂ© is proven to hold the most remarkable average size of all peacock bass fisheries currently known to the angling world. The features that set this river system apart from all others are its remoteness, the natural characteristics of the river, its intact and perfectly functioning ecosystem, and the level of protection inside a designated Indian Territory that is almost totally un-impacted by modern man.

During each fishing week, most anglers should hook into a good number of Temensis peacock bass whose average size is astounding at over 10 lbs, along with the chance of specimens of 20 lbs and over. Every day fly anglers are casting in the Rio Marie they are in the legitimate pursuit of the next world record peacock bass. When anglers are happy with their haul of larger peacock bass and want to go lighter, be prepared for a lot of action from 3 to 8 pound butterfly peacock bass, that are extremely strong and fun to catch with 7 weight rods and poppers.
