Overview

Grand Slam Fishing Lodge is located in the small fishing village of Punta Allen, which is around a two hour drive from Tulum. Grand Slam Lodge provides fly anglers immediate access to incredible sight fishing opportunities for permit, bonefish, tarpon and snook within Sian Ka’an Biosphere. The Sian Ka’an Biosphere encompasses incredible fishing flats in Ascension Bay, Punta Allen and the surrounding lagoons, where Mayan ruins can still be seen to this day. 

Grand Slam Fishing Lodge is the perfect destination for beginners to advanced saltwater anglers looking for a great variety of species and fishing scenarios, whilst also being great for non-anglers accompanying them given the high-level boutique style lodge / hotel, with its private swimming pool etc. 

There are six beachfront villas in total, each featuring two rooms with modern contemporary interiors, king-sized beds, air-conditioning, 24-hour electricity and you will have all the comforts of home, if not more! The main lodge features the Kai restaurant, bar, comfortable lounge area and plenty of space to sit back and relax after a day on the water. 

Fishing

Grand Slam Fishing Lodge is a beachfront property, with immediate access to Ascension Bay and then easy access to inside lagoon system, which runs north towards Boca Paila. You have plenty of fishing options and variety during the day, both from the water you will fish but also the species you will chase. Bonefish are the most plentiful species. However, permit is often the primary target for many visiting anglers and Ascension Bay is famous for them. Tarpon, snook, jacks, snapper and barracuda also make an appearance and often present themselves during your stay.

Fishing around Ascension Bay and within the lagoons is undertaken from well equipped fiberglass skiffs, called pangas.

The main lodge features the Kai restaurant, bar, comfortable lounge area and plenty of space to sit back and relax after a day on the water. 

Grand Slam Lodge features a full-service restaurant and bar, with a menu that can accommodate special dietary needs. Unique decor features bar stools hung from the ceiling and a large deck with oversized sofas where guests share stories and make plans for the following day. For anglers, a full cooler lunch is packed for your day on the water.

Cost of a week (7 nights with 6 days fishing) in peak season (1st October to 30th June) is US$4,335 per angler; based on a shared room and guide. Within the low season, this is reduced to US$3,705.

Shorter stays are also available in high and low season, with cost for a five night stay with four days fishing being US$3,135 in high and US$2,685 in low, or a three night stay with two days fishing being US$1,935 in high and US$1,665 in low.
