The Fishery
The Upper Paraná River offers a remarkably varied fishing environment. Clear flows, sandbars, rocky structure, channels and shoreline features provide ideal habitat for multiple target species and allow guides to adapt daily strategies based on water conditions and fish behaviour.
Golden dorado are the primary target and are renowned for their explosive strikes, aggressive feeding habits and spectacular aerial displays. In addition to dorado, anglers can pursue pacú and pira pitá, creating genuine opportunities for a South American freshwater grand slam.
The clear water conditions make the fishery particularly attractive to fly anglers, with opportunities for sight fishing as well as covering productive water from the boat. This variety ensures that every day presents new challenges and opportunities.
Fly Fishing & Conventional Tackle
Suindá Lodge caters equally well to fly fishermen and lure anglers. Fly anglers can target dorado along structure, current seams and shallow water features using a range of streamer patterns, while conventional anglers can enjoy exceptional action using artificial lures.
