For £3,400 in total – not per person – you will have private and exclusive use of the entire river and lodge for your stay.
The river accommodates a maximum of two rods fishing at any one time, while the lodge sleeps up to four people. Rod sharing is absolutely fine, meaning a group of four can enjoy three days on their own Icelandic salmon and sea trout river for just:

A SMALL AND INTIMATE ICELANDIC RIVER
The Brynjudalsa is a beautiful little river situated approximately 45 minutes north of Reykjavik, in the neighbouring valley to the famous Laxa i Kjos.
It is very different from many of Iceland’s larger and better-known salmon rivers.
Small, intimate and easily covered with light tackle, it is the sort of river where you can take your time, explore the pools and enjoy having the entire fishery to yourselves.
Better still, the river runs only around 50 metres from the lodge, with many of the best pools within easy walking distance.
SALMON AND SEA TROUT
The Brynjudalsa is a genuine mixed-species fishery, holding healthy stocks of both Atlantic salmon and sea trout.
These September dates come towards the latter part of the season. By this point there should be a good accumulation of fish throughout the river, although naturally many of the salmon will have been in freshwater for some time and will be taking on their autumn colours.
The presence of sea trout adds another dimension to the fishing and means you never quite know what the next pool might produce.
For anglers who enjoy fishing smaller rivers – particularly those accustomed to salmon and sea trout fishing in the UK – the Brynjudalsa is a wonderfully appealing proposition.
THE WHOLE RIVER IS YOURS
One of the greatest attractions is its exclusivity.
There are no other anglers to work around. Your group has private use of the entire river and can decide when, where and how long you want to fish.
There are two rods available at any one time, but groups of up to four are very welcome to share them.
For four friends this works particularly well. Two can fish while the others relax, explore or simply swap in and out throughout the day.
There is no need to rigidly divide the fishing into sessions – you control your own fishing hours.
YOUR OWN PRIVATE LODGE
The riverside lodge is also exclusively yours for the duration of the trip.
It accommodates up to four guests in two twin bedrooms and is self-catering, with a well-equipped kitchen. Bedding and towels are provided.
Being only around 50 metres from the river makes everything wonderfully straightforward.

Want to stop for lunch and head back out afterwards? The lodge is right there.
See conditions improving during the evening? Pick up your rod and walk back to the river.

The lodge is self-catering and the fishing is unguided, although guiding can be arranged at additional cost. Flights, transfers and vehicle hire are not included.
EASY TO REACH FROM REYKJAVIK
Another major advantage of the Brynjudalsa is its location.
Unlike some Icelandic fisheries that require a domestic flight or several hours of driving, the lodge is only around 45 minutes north of Reykjavik.
This makes it extremely easy to incorporate into a short Icelandic fishing break, or to add a few days in Reykjavik before or after your fishing.
