Join Ben Tinnion from John Norris for a prime March week on the legendary Rio Grande in Tierra del Fuego

We are delighted to offer a special hosted week at Cameron Lodge in 12-19th March 2027, accompanied by Ben Tinnion from John Norris.
Situated on the Chilean side of Tierra del Fuego, Cameron Lodge offers something rather different from the traditional Rio Grande experience. Guests have access to a huge amount of the upper Rio Grande, but also a selection of rivers, streams and lakes, providing an extraordinary variety of fishing from a single lodge.
With just six rods for the week, single-room accommodation as standard and experienced local guides, this promises to be a superb small-group adventure in one of the most spectacular corners of the fly-fishing world.

PRIME-TIME RIO GRANDE SEA TROUT
March is an excellent time to be on the Rio Grande.
By this stage of the season, substantial numbers of sea trout have entered the system, including the large multi-sea-winter fish for which Tierra del Fuego has become famous.
The Rio Grande needs little introduction. It is widely regarded as the world’s premier destination for large sea trout, with double-figure fish commonplace and genuine opportunities to encounter fish approaching – and occasionally exceeding – the magical 20lb mark.
At Cameron, anglers have access to over 60 kilometres of the Rio Grande, extending towards the border with Argentina. With only six anglers staying at the lodge, fishing pressure is exceptionally light.

HOSTED BY BEN TINNION
Joining the group for the week will be Ben Tinnion from John Norris.
A hosted week is a particularly good option for anyone travelling to Tierra del Fuego for the first time, those travelling alone who would prefer to join a sociable group, or simply anglers who enjoy the camaraderie that comes from sharing such an experience with like-minded fishermen.
Ben will be there throughout the week, fishing alongside the group and helping everyone get the most from their time at Cameron.

MORE THAN JUST THE RIO GRANDE
One of Cameron Lodge’s greatest attractions is the sheer variety available.
Although the Rio Grande and its famous sea trout will inevitably be the main focus, anglers are not restricted to fishing the same river every day.
Cameron also has access to additional rivers, streams and lakes, holding brown trout and other salmonids. This allows the fishing programme to remain flexible, with each day planned around conditions and what individual anglers would most like to experience.
You can concentrate entirely on Rio Grande sea trout if you wish, or spend part of the week exploring some of the other waters available.
There is no rigid fishing itinerary – you call the shots.

NIGHT FISHING ON THE RIO GRANDE
Another unusual advantage of fishing the Chilean section of the Rio Grande is the opportunity to fish after dark.
Night fishing is permitted here and can provide an exciting additional dimension to the week, particularly when targeting sea trout.
For anyone accustomed to sea trout fishing closer to home, there is something rather special about being able to continue fishing into darkness on the Rio Grande – knowing that some truly enormous sea trout could be lying in front of you.

CAMERON LODGE
The recently renovated Cameron Lodge enjoys a spectacular position overlooking the Rio Grande valley, with the Andean mountains providing the backdrop.
It is comfortable rather than unnecessarily formal, with a relaxed, homely atmosphere that suits the fishing perfectly.
Accommodation is provided in single en-suite rooms as standard, while meals and drinks are included throughout your stay.
Guiding is based on two anglers per guide, with the experienced local team providing transport to the different fishing areas each day.
