TSIMANE, BOLIVIA. GOLDEN DORADO FLY FISHING SECURE & AGUA NEGRA lODGES – 2026 AVAILABILITY

Introduction to Tsimane, Bolivia

Set deep within the Bolivian Amazon, Tsimane is widely regarded as one of the world’s most extraordinary jungle fly-fishing destinations. Located inside the Isiboro-Sécure Indigenous Territory and National Park, this remote fishery sits where the Andes meet the rainforest, creating a unique network of clear, freestone rivers that are perfectly suited to wading and sight fishing.

What makes Tsimane truly special is the combination of untouched wilderness and world-class fishing. Anglers can target aggressive golden dorado alongside pacu, yatorana, and other species in crystal-clear water that feels more akin to a mountain trout stream than a typical jungle river.

The experience is as much about immersion in one of the planet’s last wild frontiers as it is about the fishing itself—an adventure that continues to evolve each season as new water is explored.

Secure Lodge

Secure Lodge is the flagship program for anglers seeking variety, numbers, and consistent opportunities at large dorado. Hosting just six rods per week, it offers access to the upper and middle sections of the Sécure River along with key tributaries, ensuring a huge diversity of water and the ability to fish fresh beats daily.

The lodge itself provides a comfortable yet authentic jungle experience, with well-appointed accommodation and easy access to productive fishing water just minutes away. With strong populations of dorado and pacu, and the option to explore remote headwaters via overnight camps, Secure delivers a balanced mix of comfort, adventure, and consistently high catch rates.

Agua Negra Lodge

Agua Negra Lodge is the most intimate and technical of the Tsimane programs, catering to just four anglers per week. Focused on a smaller tributary of the Sécure system, it offers some of the finest sight fishing in the entire fishery, particularly for anglers who enjoy stalking fish in shallow, clear water.

The experience is slightly more rustic and exploratory, with opportunities to fish untouched water daily and even venture into remote headwater out-camps. Despite its adventurous feel, the lodge remains comfortable, with well-equipped tented cabins and excellent guiding. Agua Negra is ideal for anglers looking for a more technical, immersive jungle fishing experience with exceptional chances at trophy dorado.
