The houseboat means you can literally follow the fish and access some of the most remote areas possible. The Golden Dorado River Cruiser is easily accessed by road from Buenos Aires and caters for both fly and spin anglers. It’s also a relaxing place for non-anglers to visit. No fixed length of stay.

The Golden Dorado River Cruiser is the only mother ship / houseboat fishing destination in the whole of Argentina.

With fantastic accommodation in the recently renovated liveaboard, which has been adapted to the modern angler that’s looking to find comfort while accessing the most exclusive and off the beaten paths, away from other boats and anglers.

This amazing destination features all the ingredients needed to create a trip of a lifetime. Chasing the hard fighting golden dorado, as well as other fantastic game fish such as payara in the huge upper delta of the Paraná River system, which is one of the biggest rivers in the world.

Another important element of the Golden Dorado River Cruiser is the short distance from Buenos Aires and Rosario. If you are in Rosario, you can get to the Marina in 45 minutes, from which a short boat trip takes you to the main houseboat. If you are coming from Buenos Aires, the Marina is just 2.5 hours away.

You truly escape on the Golden Dorado Cruiser. It is also worth visiting for the wildlife, which is abound in these remote, hard to reach areas.

To appreciate the advantages of the houseboat system of the Golden Dorado River Cruiser compared to a traditional static lodge, you first need to understand the geography of the amazing Paraná River.

The Paraná River is born in the south of Brazil and, on its way south as it enters Argentina it receives water from several smaller rivers and tributaries. When it enters the provinces of Entre Ríos and Santa Fe it forms one of the largest deltas in the world, due to the confluence with the Uruguay River, finishing at La Plata River near the city of Buenos Aires, before going into the Atlantic Ocean.

This large river system is the second biggest in South America, after the Amazon, with a total length of over 1,500 miles. With hundreds of tributaries, deltas, marshlands, lagoons, side channels, it is full of fantastic flora and fauna, providing the most exciting adventure in this unique part of Argentina. This adds to the overall experience and wilderness. You will struggle to find a wilder place in which to catch a dorado in Argentina.

You will be fishing new waters every day, fishing and casting down inviting runs, inlet / outlets of lagoons, small side channels, tributaries bringing bait fish etc. It is an ever changing landscape and always something interesting around every corner.

Golden dorado are amazing hunters. They are always in search of an unfortunate prey item that happens to go by their holding spot. They like a current, and most times hunt their prey close to structure.

Fishing is done from brand new boats that are specifically designed for fly fishing. They have two casting platforms that allow comfortable casting and fishing, with remote controlled electrical engine operated by the guide that ensures you’re always in the best fishing zone possible.

In addition to targeting golden dorado, there is also the added bonus of fishing other exciting fish like pacu, pira pita, tararira, surubi, chafalote, and other freshwater species, which provide fantastic sport on both fly and spin gear.
